The gentler angle of the northernmost pyramid of Sneferu give this pyramid a more flattened appearance than other pyramids in Egypt. Here is how it looks while rounding the northwest corner:
On the east side the remnants of the Mortuary temple can be seen. Here you can also see one of the few capstones or pyramidions that have been recovered. This one was recovered in damaged condition and reconstructed, and was the first one found in Egypt for a major pyramid of the Old Kingdom. A second capstone has recently been found for a smaller subsidiary pyramid in Giza. Pictured here is the reconstructed Red pyramid capstone looking to the south toward the north face of the Bent pyramid. From the north side the
opening is clearly visible. Steps have been installed so that one may now enter this
pyramid, long closed to the public. Now you can enter this pyramid and see what it looks
like as you descend into its three chambers. All three chambers have corbelled, or stepped
